Opiate2 is a re-imagined and extended version of TOOLs 1992 single Opiate, with both the song and video marking the 30th anniversary of the EP of the same names release.
Housed in a 46-page art book with behind-the-scenes and making-of photos, the Opiate2 Blu-ray also includes interviews and insights from special guests. Visual artist Dominic Hailstone (Alien: Covenant, The Eel) worked with Adam Jones on the 10-plus minute film. The clip continues TOOLs knack for merging the aural and visual worlds, creating an all-encompassing experience for the listener that has been a hallmark of the outfit since their inception. Hailstone and Jones also collaborated on the filmed pieces featured on the current Fear Inoculum tour.

NicoJune 20, 2023Tolle Aufnahme, tolles Video. Ist für mich aber kaum mehr als ein Sammlerstück weil ich die Musik nicht auf einen Stick bekomme oder generell auf den PC um es auch auf dem Smartphone hören zu können. Man hätte zumindest eine CD dazulegen können.

Michelle WApril 29, 2022It’s Tool. What’s not to like? We are lucky enough to have a band like Tool active and at their prime-in our lifetime. Our parents had Zeppelin. We have Tool. The Blue Ray was priced right- the packaging held up during shipping and is visually appealing. I love the fresh take on the classic songs. Commentary is a bonus. So glad I purchased this disc.

My only criticism has nothing to do with the music or the video, but I was expecting the "commentary" to maybe be...I do not know...actually intellectually stimulating? The two people talking MUCH louder OVER the song do not exactly offer anything of any substance other than a few laughs. I hope I got a weird 'bad batch,' but, yeah, the 'commentary' makes me want a refund. Other than that, awesome, as expected from TOOL. Now release a new album, please!
