Tool is proud to present another fine art offering - 'The Fetus in Skull Life-Size Sculpture.' Inspired by the 10,000 Days and Lateralus album artwork(s) by Alex Grey. Each collectible figure is cast in Polystone, individually hand painted with realistic details, and hand numbered - making each unit similar, but distinct from the next.
The Fetus in Skull Life-Size Sculpture is a beautiful and unique piece of artwork capturing realistic details in full 1:1 presentation. Serving as a larger, more finished, version of the previously released Maquette study. Similar to the Maquette, the Life-Size Sculpture is for the Tool fan collector meant to be appreciated; but also to invoke thought, introspection, and conversation. Special accents can be found throughout the work including the third eye flame painted in full color spectrum which serves as a touch sensor on/off switch for a red flashing LED beating heart effect within the fetus.
This hand-numbered collectible, signed by the band, is limited to the first 515 units of the edition. This unique collectible unit will include three components, each individually numbered with a matching sequence of 0001 through 0515/2100 to ensure authenticity, collectability and value, today and well into the future.

I love to show and activate the hearbeat in front of my friends around me. The storage box is perfect (with the foam and attach) to store it and move it in security. Signed version + shipping to Canada + convert USD to CND = still an expensive gift but still very proud to make the right decision for this piece of art.

DaveMay 12, 2023This is a very cool and unique piece of art. Well worth the investment. The only issue I see is that the signatures should have been on the pedestal instead of the primary packaging. As a collector, I will have to come up with something creative to preserve the signatures.

shorthairtwinMay 9, 2023The full size skull is awesome!! I really love the design and complexity of the sculpture and the colorful sawtooth base. I also have the maquette skull and it is equally awesome!! I have each sculpture under a glass dome with a small LED for up lighting inside. The only negative I have to mention is my full size skull showed up with 2 holes in the shipping container and I ended up with a mark on the signed art box. Regardless, this is my 1st signed piece of memorabilia and I will enjoy it forever!

Sean McWhirkMay 9, 2023Very pleased overall and even after reading the battery placement insertion instructions I unfortunately had the positive red wire disconnect and have been unable to witness the heartbeat in the fetus light up and I got rather perturbed and put it all away as it was when I received it, wondering what route to take to have it repaired. Love the packaging and attention to detail and of course the signature of the band members.

Mike BrimmMay 9, 2023I received my full size, signed, fetus in skull sculpture to go with my half scale maquette and was not disappointed. It is a stunning work of art and the 2 displayed together are incredible. Unfortunately mine did show up slightly damaged but Megan, in customer service, was BEYOND helpful. I seriously can not say enough about how amazing she was. She got the issue resolved quickly, politely and with very little effort on my part. She literally took all of the anxiety out of the situation.

Love Feels BestMarch 25, 2023What a beautiful piece of art. It’s obvious with this release Adam is remembering the future by placing art into the world that will likely exist long after we have all passed on. My only question, silly as it might be, is which part of it is “life size”. The skull or the fetus or both? I wonder if a notable skull or fetus was used as models. If anyone knows about famous skulls in collections I’d bet it’d be AJ.
